Thanks very much to all of you who took the time to take the time to complete survey. More surveys created by researchers will be coming in the near future.

For those with autistic children who want to take the survey click here.

For those who want to take the control survey (you have children, but not with any autism spectrum disorder) click here.

Here are the current results of the Parent Survey based on 800 responses to an autism survey and 150 to control group.

98% of the autism group were born in 1986 or later.

20% more autistic kids were vaccinated than the control group.

85% don't have a blood relative with autism. This includes aunts, uncles and cousins

10% more mothers of autistic children did not take prenatal vitamins vs. the control group

12% more autistic kids took Motrin as infants than the control group.

5% more mothers took Motrin while pregnant than the control group.

20% less moms took Tylenol while pregnant than the control group.

4% more had placental problems during pregnancy than the control group.

APGAR scores were fairly consistent with both groups.

Epidural and anesthesia usage was fairly consistent with both groups.

Pitocin and Oxytocin usage was fairly consistent with both groups.

5% more had meconium aspiration during delivery than the control group.

6% had Stainmaster carpets vs. 0 in the control group

5% more had Berber carpet vs. controls

5% more had Teflon than controls

Significantly more mothers of autistic children breastfed for a shorter duration or not at all

Women with autistic children had less dental amalgam fillings (the ones with mercury) on average and less cavities.

Autistic kids had 18% more abnormal digestive problems during first two years than controls.

The product usage across both groups is surprisingly consistent. In that respect, this survey may prove useful in ruling out items that are or have been considered suspect.

Any researcher who would like to further interpret the data is more than welcome to email us at info@autismdata.org for excel files or perhaps even database access

Any credentialed autism researcher who would like setup their own Internet research survey using our existing infrastructure is welcome to do so free of charge. The surveys can be customized to accommodate any type of data collection and all data is subsequently placed in a database for analysis (can also be exported into excel files). Please email us at info@autismdata.org for excel files or perhaps even database access

The autism research survey was created by a NJ parent (Chris Bacher) of an autistic child (Spencer) solely for the purpose of attempting to identify a possible cause for the rise in autism. Subsequently a nonprofit organization was created (Autism Internet Research Survey a NJ Nonprofit corporation).

The results expressed here are from an Internet survey, which, in and of itself, is considered a biased source of data and not a true random sampling of the population. The percentages presented here are simply a comparison of the two surveys. The implications and statistical significance of this data is yet to be determined.
